We want to thank our donors for all that they do. They are community-builders, opening doors and opportunities, creating a greater sense of belonging for all. Donations are a critical part of the Y that helps us run programs and offer financial assistance to people who otherwise wouldn't be able to participate.
Today, we are highlighting our partnership with Marriott Hotels Seton Calgary, sponsors of the Family Centre at Brookfield Residential YMCA at Seton.
Meet Ripin Yadav, General Manager, and Veronica Beothy, Senior Sales Manager, of Courtyard and Residence Inn, Calgary South. Through their generous 10-year pledge to sponsor the Family Centre, the Y will continue to create a sense of belonging for all. This space invites children, youth and families to gather, create memories and engage with others from their community. It is a safe and welcoming place to connect, learn and thrive.
“We could see people from all walks of life coming together in a space that brings out the best in them” says Beothy of supporting the Family Centre, “and we appreciate that this space caters to a diverse group.”
Beothy also shared a fond memory of the Courtyard and Residence Inn teams utilizing the YMCA’s spaces for a team building exercise. The ‘Seton Amazing Race’ saw the Marriotts General Managers out experiencing the community, with the Y’s Wave Rider being a crowd favourite.
YMCA Calgary and Marriott Hotels are dedicated to uplifting people’s well-being and bringing our community together. Through sponsorships like that of the Marriott Hotel, the Y can continue to offer financial assistance and ensure that no one is turned away.
“It just makes sense to support an organization that also supports our community. We want to aid in creating a place for people to connect and grow” says Yadav. “We’ve always known the Y as a charity with purpose. The financial aid for low-income households continues to be one of the greatest and highly appreciated initiatives offered by the Y.”
